Day 3 and 4: Cape Charles VA

Cape Charles would be our stopover point for our Atlantic passage. Laura L. was our harbor master and helped us fuel and find our slip. Conditions were relaxed but adequate. The town was charming as were the people. Many thanks to the young lady at the Antique Store, the retiring 90 year old jewelry store owner, the nice folks at the Pharmacy, and the waitress at Rebecca's.
  • Harbor of Refuge: Much easier to find and manuever than the cruising guides would state.

  • Downtown Cape Charles: Like we were back in the 1950's. We could have stayed for days.

  • Leaving the Cape: Hurricane Erika and unstable weather conditions at the mouth of the Chesapeake force us to inch further south.
