Day 5 and 6: Kiptopeke VA
Kiptopeke is about 12 nm south of Cape Charles. It is a protected anchorage
where the breakwater consists of sunken concrete vessels. Another two days
would be spent here waiting for Atlantic swells and small craft warnings
Back to Jule III Home.
The Dingy Girls of Kiptopeke: Showers
and a port-a-pottie were a dingy row away. The DGs checked out the facilities
- Waiting out the Storm: More delays as
an upper level trough comes through and provides wind and rain. Will we
ever see the Atlantic?
The Beach at Kiptopeke: The crew return
to the beaches of Kiptopeke for a last visit. Looks like a nice place
The Artificial Barrier: Finally leaving
for the Atlantic. We approach the breakwater barrier.
